Composer Edmund Choi studied composition with Justin Dello Joio at New York University and conducting with Vincent La Selva at The Juilliard School of Music. After graduating from NYU, he began his career as an assistant to composer Carter Burwell, working on such films as THE BIG LEBOWSKI, FARGO, ROB ROY, THE GOOFY MOVIE, THE HUDSUCKER PROXY, CONSPIRACY THEORY, IT COULD HAPPEN TO YOU, KALIFORNIA, AND THE BAND PLAYED ON, THIS BOY'S LIFE, DOC HOLLYWOOD and BARTON FINK.


Choi's association with director M. Night Shyamalan led to collaborations on their first two features, PRAYING WITH ANGER and WIDE AWAKE. After completing WIDE AWAKE, the composer was signed to a multi-picture deal by Harvey Weinstein to write music for Miramax Films.


Through his ongoing partnership with WORKING DOG PRODUCTIONS, he has also been honored to have scored two of Australia’s most beloved films, THE CASTLE and THE DISH, as well as the critically acclaimed TV series THE HOLLOWMEN.


The composer has also written and conducted commercial music for SONY, Computer Associates and General Mills. He is currently composing music for FRACTURES and THE RED ROBIN.
